It flowed down hill as a crystal clear gravel bottom stream down the hill. As a young boy with my friends, we used to play on Churchdown hill, when it was all open to the public and not overgrown as it is now. Mussels well was the only place you could get a drink and the water was pure and cold and flowed continuously. My mother told me that a family that lived on the hill pre 1960 used to get their water from the well as it was the only water on the hill. Your pictures of it show that it has been neglected which is very sad to see .
